Driver Perceptions on Taxi-sharing and Dynamic Pricing in Taxi Services: Evidence from Athens, Greece.

The taxi industry has changed dramatically during the last decade, as ride-sourcing applications, ride-sharing and alternative pricing schemes have emerged, either complementing or competitive services strategies. After some years of familiarity with such trends, it is interesting to explore where stands respect possible service innovations. This paper explores behavioral patterns drivers, focusing on issues their preferred way conducting business, views introducing taxi-sharing dynamic pricing. Data collected from a face-to-face questionnaire survey in Athens, Greece are exploited, appropriate econometric models developed for purposes study. analysis shows that young and/or educated well those who familiar new technologies more willing accept innovations services. Results stated choice experiment show average 3.5 euros extra charge market would offer service. However, results reveal value varies across different groups drivers.
